CV’s Marching Band takes on Echoes in the Valley

Cumberland Valley hosted the marching band competition Echoes in the Valley Saturday, March 26.

Echoes in the Valley is an annual marching band showcase and it's been a competition as well. 

It's a fundraiser run by the band boosters. Echoes is one of the larger fundraisers.

“Local high schools that have competitive marching bands sign up to be apart of our show and perform for a panel of judges and receive a score, in preparation for our championships in November,” band director David Porter said.

This year’s competition features seven other marching bands from other high schools. Porter said, “The show varies in size but this year it’s bigger than it's been in a few years so that's pretty exciting.”

The marching band was excited about the event. Porter said, “I’m just excited to show off for the home crowd...The nice thing about our home show having a whole crowd whos all there for the bands.”

Come support CV’s marching band at the band championships in November and the upcoming color guard event, Echoes in the Dome in early 2020.
