The two top teams in the Commonwealth battled it out in the dome Tuesday night. Cumberland Valley came in at first place in the division, with Chambersburg right behind, but Cumberland Valley (10-1) kept their spot on top after a 52-47 hard-fought win over Chambersburg.

It wasn't an easy win by any means, but the Eagles never gave up and were too much for the Trojans down the stretch. At halftime Chambersburg lead 32-23 after a dominant second quarter. The Eagles cut it back to a six point game after three, with some big threes from Ty Banach and Dylan Buzalka. It was all Eagles from there as they dominated the second half, outscoring Chambersburg 29-15. To start the fourth, CV showed off their prestigious defense, not allowing a bucket after a two minute Chambersburg possession. They followed up by going on a 13-1 burst, leaving the Trojans no chance. Micah Wolf’s big three with under two minutes to go sealed the game. Banach lead the way for the Eagles with 18, Buzalka was right behind with 17.

Junior Harris Vorwald said, “That was a special win for us, we were down pretty big but coach Ves got us ready at halftime and we just wanted to come out firing”.

The Eagles continue their success moving to 10-1. They are without one of their top players, senior Omar Tandir. He is missing 4-6 weeks due to illness, but the team has found a way to win without him. The team hopes to have him back for playoffs to add a spark. They remain on top of the division, fighting for a first round bye in what would be their first playoff appearance in years.
