Storming into the winter season, the Cumberland Valley boys lacrosse team is working very hard practicing, weight lifting and doing speed and agility sessions.

Even though lacrosse is a spring sport, CV and some other schools have a winter season so they can be extra prepared for the regular season.

A key to being great at the high school level is having the edge on your opponents by being stronger, faster and more prepared than them. The CV lacrosse team has been lifting and training four days a week to get ready.

“We are preparing by having speed and agility. Then on the days we have practice, we hit the
weights after,” freshman Justin Bordner said.

The CV winter lacrosse games are played at Spooky Nook Sports facility in Lancaster, PA.

Playing opponents at Spooky Nook is good for the CV lacrosse team because they get to play some different competition across the region that they normally wouldn’t get to play during the regular season.

Being successful on the lacrosse field demands players  have the right equipment and best stick that fits the player and  position.

“I’m a face off middie and my strategy is to stay low and be quicker to the ball then my opponent,” Bordner said.
“The difference in my sticks are the different flex points to be able to get around the ball and win he clamp,” Bordner said.

With all of this hard work the boys are looking forward to a great winter season but an even better and stronger spring season.
