Today’s Game: Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy

Welcome to another edition of Press Start, today we’ll be talking about the Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy.  This is actually three games in one, it’s the original three Crash Bandicoot games, Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2 Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped, remastered with modern graphics and controls and all put together on one disk.  As crazy as that sounds each game’s plot is basically the same, and revolves around Crash and his sister Coco trying to stop the evil Dr. Neo Cortex from taking over the world, with some new mechanic like power crystals or a time machine thrown into each subsequent game to keep it fresh.

Now, of the many games I’ve played, this game certainly isn’t the easiest, each game varies in difficulty with the first being particularly hard, at least in my opinion.  The only way I can think of to get good at it is to keep practicing, now I know that mind sound cliche, but it’s true, just be sure to stock up on lives and smash as many boxes as possible to get those precious Wumpa fruits.

Pros:

Updated graphics bring a modern feel to these classic games

Upbeat happy soundtrack will make you feel good while playing

Diversity in level design makes sure you’ll never get bored

With three games, you can play for hours without repeating anything

Cons:

Varying difficulty makes it hard to predict what will come your way next

Doesn't really bring anything new to the table over the classic games

Overall, this a fun, happy game and a great nostalgic throwback to classic games of the past.  Sure it might not be perfect, but I still believe it to be a very good game with loads of replayability, and I’ll always enjoy Crashing through it one more time!
